Our Story

In 2006, the Roberts family moved to the country, trading their city home for 6 ½ acres of land to pursue a more natural lifestyle. Michelle, a master gardener, managed the gardens while Glen raised livestock. To support their seven children, they started a CSA farm, providing fresh vegetables to local families and selling produce at farmers markets.

Michelle designed a hoop house to start seedlings indoors, and after securing an NRCS grant, they began building hoop houses for others. They also constructed two 90-foot hoop houses on their property, enabling year-round growing. Over time, their CSA farm transitioned to growing medicinal herbs, but the hoop house business remained a successful seasonal enterprise.

In 2018, Michelle’s son Kevin, a mechanical engineer, joined the business, improving the hoop house design with stronger materials, sliding bay doors, and a simplified construction process. He has also expanded into covering outdoor pickleball courts.

The Roberts family remains committed to promoting self-sustainable living, advocating for favorable zoning laws, and educating others on growing their own food. They participate in farm-to-fork events, host NRCS learning conventions, and speak at grower conferences. For them, helping others cultivate healthy food has become a lifelong passion.
